To teach Kannada language, literature and culture by providing higher education to Kannadigas residing in the state.
To promote the use of Kannada language in other states.
To create an understanding of Kannada language among the bordering states.
To make Kannada a language of communication by developing a sense of harmony with other neighbouring states regarding Kannada language and culture.
To instil an attitude of gaining knowledge of the world through Kannada.
