University College of Arts and Social Sciences started in 1939 with a commitment to excel in the sphere of education. Students' envision to join this college as it provides a vibrating environment with scores of academic activities, events and enriching cultural extravaganzas. Every student is highly motivated to transform oneself and eventually the society through the vibrant discussions and deliberations, stimulating seminars and symposia that are regularly scheduled in the college. The motto of the College is not only to provide quality education but also effective physical and psychological wellbeing which is achieved through sports events, health camps and highly volatile life skills development programmes.

The College empowers the students through programmes like Youth Festivals, Youth Parliament and induction. The College fulfills the ambitions and aspirations of the indigenous and foreign students and scholars. The College also provides placements to the students based on their skills.

I am glad to have committed and efficient faculty who contribute to the academic ambience of the college by participating in the various committees-Academic Research Committee, IQAC, , Students' Advisory Committee, Women Empowerment to name a few.
